The University Center will be renamed the Sadler Center, in honor of the retiring Vice President of Student Affairs Sam Sadler ’64, M.Ed. ’71, Rector Michael Powell said in a surprise announcement at commencement today.
Preliminary Williamsburg City Council election results indicate that Matt Beato ’09 has lost the election to Paul Freiling ’83, Judy Knudson and Clyde Haulman. Flat Hat estimates indicate that turnout for Beato among registered students was less than 30 percent.
Board of Visitors member Joseph Plumeri ’66 and the College announced jointly today that Plumeri has pledged $2 million to establish the Plumeri Awards for Faculty Excellence.
Voter registration forms filled out by at least three Flat Hat staff members are missing as of today, and those who filled out forms will not be able to vote in the City Council election tomorrow.
