Virginia M. Ambler ’88, Ph.D. ’06 was named Vice President for Student Affairs at the College of William and Mary Tuesday. College President Taylor Reveley made the announcement through an e-mail sent to the College community.
Ambler served as interim vice president for student affairs at the College since Sam Sadler ’64, M.Ed. ’71 retired from his position as VPSA last June. She previously held the position of assistant vice president for student affairs and holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Doctor of Philosophy degree in educational policy, planning and leadership from the College.
A search committee composed of faculty, staff, alumni and students conducted a national search to fill the position this year. The four finalists, including Ambler, made official visits to the College during April and May.
Both the selection committee and Student Assembly President Sarah Rojas said they are pleased with the results of the selection process and are excited about what Ambler will bring to the position.
